The Ultimate Hair Transplant Packing List for Canadians Flying to Turkey

Everything you need to pack — and a few things you should leave at home.

Documents & Essentials

• Valid Canadian passport (must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel date) • Turkish e-Visa (apply online at evisa.gov.tr — takes 5 minutes, costs ~$70 CAD) • Printed clinic confirmation and contact details • Travel insurance documents (ensure it covers medical procedures abroad) • Credit/debit cards (Visa and Mastercard widely accepted; notify your bank of travel) • Small amount of Turkish Lira for taxis and tips ($200-$300 CAD equivalent) • Phone charger and power adapter (Turkey uses Type C/F plugs — same as most of Europe) • Copies of all important documents (digital and paper)

Clothing

Pack for comfort, not style. After your procedure, you'll want loose, easy-to-wear clothing: • Button-up shirts (5-6): You cannot pull shirts over your head for the first 2 weeks. Button-ups or zip-ups are essential. • Loose, comfortable pants (3-4 pairs) • Comfortable walking shoes • A wide-brimmed hat or loose baseball cap (for sun protection after the procedure — your clinic will also provide one) • Light jacket or sweater (clinic rooms can be cool) • Comfortable sleepwear • Underwear and socks for 5-7 days Do NOT pack: Tight-fitting hats, pullover hoodies, or anything that needs to go over your head.

Entertainment & Comfort

You'll be in the clinic for 6-10 hours during the procedure, plus recovery time at the hotel: • Tablet or laptop with downloaded movies/shows (clinic WiFi may be slow) • Headphones or earbuds • Books or e-reader • Phone with games, podcasts, or audiobooks • Travel neck pillow (essential for sleeping elevated after the procedure) • Eye mask and earplugs (for sleeping at the hotel) Many clinics provide tablets and entertainment during the procedure, but it's best to bring your own.

Health & Toiletries

• Any regular prescription medications (bring enough for the full trip plus extras) • Over-the-counter pain medication (Tylenol/Advil — though your clinic will provide prescription pain meds) • Lip balm (the anaesthesia can dry your lips) • Moisturiser • Toothbrush and toothpaste • Deodorant • Sunscreen (SPF 50+ for after the procedure) • Hand sanitiser • Wet wipes Do NOT pack: Hair products, hair dryer, or anything you'd normally use on your hair. You won't need them. Your clinic will provide: Special shampoo, aftercare lotion, medications, bandages, and a recovery kit.

What to Leave at Home

• Pullover shirts and hoodies • Tight hats or helmets • Hair styling products • Expensive jewellery (you'll be in a medical setting) • Heavy luggage (pack light — you'll want to move easily) • Expectations of perfection on day 1 (results take 12-18 months!) Pro tip: Pack a small, soft bag for your clinic day. You'll want your entertainment, charger, and a button-up shirt change. Leave your main luggage at the hotel.
